Aatidonji Dina Program
The college campus witnessed Aatidonji dina celebration which is the famous Aati festival reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Dakshina Kannada (Tulunadu) on 3 August, 2024.The programme commenced with an insightful introduction by Sri Ganesh, Executive committee member of staff club explaining about the significance of aati in tulunadu and highlighted the rich culture of Dakshina Kannada. Mrs Jayshree also provided an informative overview of Aati, explaining its traditional celebrations and customs in the region. The Secretary of the staff club Dr Mridula Rajesh welcomed the gathering. The programme was traditionally inaugurated by Dr H. N. Anjanayappa, Dean and President of staff club by lighting the lamp and opening of arecanut tree flowers symbolizing the beginning of the celebration respecting and honouring the traditional practices.
Speaking on the occasion Dr H. N. Anjanayappa, said that though change is inevitable with pass of time, it is the responsibility of the people to preserve their culture and tradition. Elders should take up the task of passing on traditions and cultures to the new generation, he added. As part of the celebration, a display of old vessels and cooking equipment used in Tulunadu was set up, providing a tangible connection to the past. This exhibit offered the attendees a glimpse into the traditional tools and methods that shaped the culinary practices of the region. The event featured a variety of indoor Aati-special games that were enthusiastically participated in by the staff.
The celebration concluded with a communal meal featuring Aati-special traditional cuisine. The staff gathered to enjoy variety of dishes that are integral to the Aati festival, savoring the flavors of the region and reflecting on the cultural significance of the food.
Dr Honnananda treasurer, staff club delivered the vote of thanks. The Aatidonji Dina celebration was a resounding successreinforcing the importance of cultural heritage and community spirit.





Felicitation ceremony to honor Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa, Dean
The staff of College of Fisheries, Mangalore felicitated Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa, Dean for taking charge on a regular basis on 4-7-2024. Dr. Anjanayappa’s remarkable career spans over several decades, during which he has made outstanding contributions to both teaching and academic administration. His visionary leadership and dedication is very much required in the growth and reputation of the institution. As a token of appreciation, Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa was presented with a memento. Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa expressed his heartfelt gratitude and emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration, stating, “Whatever I have achieved is because of the collective efforts of my colleagues and the institution. Together, we have built something to be proud of, and I look forward to the continued success of our students and faculty.”
During the proceedings, the executive committee of staff club led the prayer. Dr Mridula Rajesh, Secretary of Staff Club, extended a warm welcome, while Dr Honnananda, Treasurer read the citation letter. Mrs Sowmya Executive committee member proposed vote of thanks, and Mrs Vandana, compeered the programme.

Smt. Rohini joined the college as Senior Ward Girl on 05.12.2002 and rendered her service in the college. She served for nearly 21 years and retired on June 30, 2024. To honour her service a small retirement party was organized by the staff club of the college. She was honored and felicitated by the Incharge Dean, Dr. Vardaraju S. All the staff club members were present and wished her good health and happiness in her life ahead.

Shri. Sanjeeva, DRE in the Department of Physical Education superannuated after 39 years of service in the college. The staff club of the college organized a felicitation programme on April 30, 2024 to honor his service during his tenure in this institute. He was felicitated by Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa Dean (Fisheries) and president of staff club. All the members of the staff club wished him good health and happiness in the life after his retirement.

Dr. Siddappaji, S. Associate Professor in the Department of Fish Processing Technology superannuated after 33 years of service in the college. The staff club of the college organized a felicitation programme on March 30, 2024 to honor his service during his tenure in this institute. He was felicitated by Dr. H. N. Anjanayappa Dean (Fisheries) and president of staff club. All the members of the staff club wished him good health and happiness in life.

Shri. Dinesh Devadiga, who served as Senior Lab technician for about 41 years in the Department of Fish Processing Technology got officially superannuated from this esteemed institute. Staff Club of the college organized retirement programme on 29th April, 2023 to honor his great service to this institute. During the event he was honored and felicitated by Dr. Shivakumar M, Dean (Fisheries). He was accompanied by his family. All the staff club members gathered during the event and showered their good wishes.


Smt. U. Geetha joined the college as Senior Gardner on 11.10.2002 and rendered her service in the Department of Fisheries Resources Management of the college. She served for 20 years and retired on Dec 31, 2022. To honour her service a small retirement party was organized by the staff club of the college. She was honored and felicitated by the Dean and President staff club, Dr. Shivakumar M. All the staff club members were present and wished her good health and happiness in the life ahead.

Shri. Ronald Lorena, Refrigerator Mechanic in the Department of Fisheries Engineering and Technology superannuated after 37 years of service in the college. The staff club of the college organized a felicitation programme on Nov 30, 2022 to honor his service during his tenure in this institute. He was felicitated by Dr. Shivakumar M, Dean (Fisheries) and president of staff club. All the members of the staff club wished him good health and happiness in the life after his retirement.

Mr. JAGADEESHA, Senior life guard, Department of physical education superannuated from university on 30th May 2020. CoFM and Staff club wishes him a happy retired life

Mr. R.M. PRABHU (Ramesh M. Prabhu), Associate Professor, Dept. of Fish Processing Technology, Hoige Bazar, College of Fisheries, Mangaluru has superannuated (31.03.2017) from the University service after serving 33 years in the College.
The STAFF CLUB of the College had organised a Farewell function at Prof. HPC Shetty hall today. The Staff Club also celebrated Sri R.M. Prabhu's 62nd Birth day by cutting a cake prior to the Farewell function. Dr. A.T, Ramachendra Naik (Secretary of the Staff Club) while welcoming the guests & gatherings, highlighted his background on pre-education, fisheries education, trainings undergone & services. Superannuation of Dr. S. Benakappa, Professor & Head, Dept. of Fisheries Resource Management on 31th August 2016
On 30th July 2016 Mr. B. Ashok Kharvi, Sr. Fisheries Fieldman, Dept. of Aquaculture, has superannuated from his 42 years long University service.
Dr A T Ramachandra Naik (Secretary, Staff Club) welcomed the Staff members and briefed about the role of Mr. Ashok Kharvi in the College and his services in the field of Fish farming, breeding of carps and ornamental fishes and aquarium fabrication, setting and maintenance, Dr H Shivananda Murthy (Prof. & Head, Dept. of Aquaculture), Dr Gangadhara Gowda, Dr Ganapathi Naik M. and Mr. Ganesh from Fishery Engineering dept. spoke about the achievements of Mr. Ashok Kharvi. Dr M N Venugopal (Dean i/c) presided over the function, Mr S G Hegde (Joint Secretary) proposed vote of thanks. Mrs. Kasturi and Mrs Roopa invocated. Finally, all the faculty wished him.
