Mandates of Canine Research and Information Centre, Timmapur :

• To Conserve and Develop Mudhol Hound Breed of Dog.
• To take up research in dog nutrition physiology, behavior, training, management, health care and breeding in Mudhol Hound breed of dog.
• To provide facilities for dog breeding training and marketing.
• To Co-Ordinate activities of various Government agencies, NGO’s and dog breeders involved in popularizing and development of the breed.
• To establish Dog Growers Association

Awards:

Breed Saviour Award 2015: for conservation of indigenous Breed of Mudhol Dog since 2009 by Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Voluntary Action and ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetics and Research (NBAGR) at Karnal

Breed Conservation Award 2022 : for the conservation of the indigenous Breed of Mudhol Hound Dogs by ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetics and Research (NBAGR) at Karnal on 17-02-2023.

Completed Projects :

1.	Title of the Project“Phenotypic characterization of both male and female dogs of Mudhol Hound breed.”
2.	Title of the Project“Serum Biochemistry of Male and Female Dogs of Mudhol Hound Breed.”
3.	Title of the Project“Livelihood security through Mudhol Hound dog Rearing in Bagalkot district.”

Recognition:

The Mudhol Hound Dog has registered as a Breed by ICAR, National Bureau of Animal Genetics and Research (NBAGR), Karnal in 2020.

Mudhol Hound puppies are distributed to many government agencies like RVC Meerut, SSB Rajasathan, CRPF Bangalore, CISF SDSC, Sriharikota, BSF Tekanapur, Bandipur Forest Department, Air Force Yelahanka and Uttarapradesh, CID Department Odisha and SPG New Delhi.
