Veterinary Pathology
The Department of Veterinary Pathology is engaged in imparting education in the subject of Veterinary Pathology to BVSc & AH Undergraduate students as per MSVE 2016 guidelines of Veterinary Council of India.
The Department has infrastructure and facilities required for UG teaching and for disease diagnosis like, postmortem hall, clinical pathology, cytopathology, biopsy, histopathology laboratories.
A new veterinary pathology museum is being established with the help of local veterinarian to house all the representative specimens needed for education of students and visitors.
Department is actively offering diagnostic services like Necropsy of livestock, poultry, laboratory animals and wild animals, cytopathology, histopathology, and clinical pathology for disease diagnosis to benefit of farmers, pet owners and helping clinician in accurate diagnosis of clinical conditions.
The Department is also actively involved in extension activities like imparting training to farmers, Veterinary Officers of Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, GoK.,and independently offering consultancy services to clients, farmers, pet owners of Gadag, Haveri and Dharwad districts.
The faculty are involved in several KVAFSU funded and extra-mural research projects.
