Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology
The Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology is currently offering Courses as per MSVE 2016 guidelines for under graduate (UG) and as per ICAR P.G guidelines to post graduate (P.G) and Ph.D as minor and supporting courses. The Department is currently working in the areas of Pharmacokinetics, Preclinical Toxicology, Ethnoveterinary Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology and Forensic Toxicology and completed one extra mural project entitled ‘Validation of Ethnoveterinary Practices in Management of Common Ailments of Livestock’ funded by RKVY, Govt. of Karnataka. The Department is regularly conducting training programmes in the area of clinical pharmacology and toxicology as well as extending advisory service to veterinarians and farmers of the state. The Department had also conducted many workshops on laboratory animals and ethical issues previously. Also conducted many health camps and guided farmers about the advanced practices available in livestock activities.
