Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics

The Department started functioning since 1984 and offering undergraduate courses as per MSVE 2016 and postgraduate courses in the Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics. The Department providing the services to the farming community and pet owners pertaining to animal reproduction, gynaecology and obstetrics. Department has been regularly carrying out semen collection, artificial insemination (AI) and pregnancy diagnosis; diagnosis and treatment of various infertility conditions, genital surgeries (including caesarean section) in livestock and companion animals. Department has bull centre and semen collection and andrological investigation of bulls are regularly practised here. Started in vitro fertilization laboratory and IVF studies are going on in small ruminants. All the staff members are actively participating as gynaecology specialists in infertility camps conducted in and around Bidar, as a resource person in many training programmes, TV/Radio talks and seminars etc. The Department is regularly conducting training programmes in the area of gynaecology and obstetrics as well as extending advisory service to veterinarians and farmers of the state. The Department had also conducted many workshops and many health camps and guided farmers about the advanced practices available in livestock activities.
