Designation and address: Associate Professor and Head (i/c), Qualifications Contact Dr. Prakashkumar Rathod (B.V.Sc & A.H., M.V.Sc., Ph.D) graduated from Veterinary College, Bidar in 2008 and completed his M.V.Sc in the discipline of Veterinary and A.H Extension Education from Mumbai Veterinary College, Mumbai (MAFSU, Nagpur) in 2010. During his M.V.Sc studies, he was awarded JRF from ASPEE Agricultural Foundation, Mumbai and has also qualified in UGC, New Delhi-JRF and ICAR, New Delhi-SRF examination for his Ph. D studies. He is bestowed with Jawaharlal Nehru Award for P.G. Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Researchin Agricultural and Allied Sciences-2016 (Social Sciences) by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi for his innovative Ph.D. research of field and policy relevance on need for strengthening “Livestock Innovation System (LIS)” in India. Dr. Prakash is presently associated with Livestock Research and Information Centre (Deoni), Bidar, Karnataka (http://www.kvafsu.edu.in/lric_bidar/research.html) from June, 2021 and was previously associated with Department of Veterinary and A.H Extension Education, Veterinary College, Bidar, Karnataka from November, 2011. He is involved in UG & PG teaching, research activities and Extension activities like training, demonstration etc. of the institute. As a researcher, he has been Principal Investigator (PI) for five Projects and Co-PI for two projects which also include the funding support under World Bank Funded- KWDP II - Sujala III Project, ICAR, New Delhi, Karnataka Livestock Development Agency, SCSP-TSP Grants of Government of Karnataka etc. Majority of these projects aimed to improve the livelihood of the farmers through scientific livestock interventions and the same has been published through different research papers and conference/seminar presentations. Dr. Prakash was also associated with International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), Patancheru, India ( https://www.icrisat.org/ ) as Visiting Scientist from March, 2018 to March, 2020 and looked after livestock interventions in seven projects based at Karnataka, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha.
